Because The Tariff Bureau is authorized to act as your agent before U.S. Customs, refund checks are drawn on the U.S. Treasury in your name but delivered to us for processing. It’s the mechanism that makes the recovery legally possible — it doesn’t change your ownership of the funds recovered on your behalf.
